Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been rather inconsistent so far this season and have managed to win just 2 of their 6 outings so far. As a result, they are second-last on the points table, just 2 points ahead of their opponents, the Delhi Capitals.

The lack of batting form has hurt Sunrisers Hyderabad dearly. While the other teams have been consistently putting up big totals, SRH has failed to cross the 150-run mark in 4 of the 6 matches they have played. Harry Brook, who is among the most expensive overseas player this season, has played just 1 good inning so far. His lack of scoring options against the spinners is something that is going to hurt him.

Similarly, the likes of Aiden Markram, Mayank Agarwal, and Abhishek Sharma have failed to get going. Aiden Markram has improved as a player of spin in the middle and is going to be crucial to SRH's fortunes but surely Mayank Aggarwal has run out of chances! Heinrich Klaassen has impressed for SRH and could be another crucial player for them in this contest.

The team management will have to come up with some major changes if they want to change their fortune. The Sunrisers have one of the strongest pace attacks in the league, at least on paper, with bowlers like Umran Malik, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, and T Natarajan.

However, they, too, haven’t been able to perform regularly. Despite such big names, Mayank Markande is the team's leading wicket-taker.

While quite a few matches remain, SRH will need to build up winning momentum soon.

Delhi Capitals

After losing five consecutive matches, the Delhi Capitals finally have something to rejoice about. They clinched their first win of the season by defeating KKR. However, they are still at the bottom of the table and have quite a long way to go to make it into the top four.

Despite the win, the team's woes seem far from over. The Capitals had a great chance to improve their NRR as they were chasing a modest target of 128, but the chase trickled on until the final over of the match, thanks to a rather slow approach by the middle order.

David Warner was once again the best batsman on the team, scoring his 4th half-century of the season. He will now need some of the other batsmen, including Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, and Manish Pandey, to step up and take some burden off his shoulders. We love the addition of Phil Salt to the lineup and perhaps it is time for Rovman Powell to get another chance in place of Mitchell Marsh.

Ishant Sharma, who was playing his first match of the season, bowled a brilliant spell against KKR and was instrumental in restricting them to a small total. He will have the support of Anrich Nortje and Mukesh Kumar, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav will take up the spin duties. 

The Delhi Capitals may be slightly undervalued in this contest, and that is definitely something to consider from a betting perspective.

The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first here. This is the preferred strategy for most teams but two out of the three matches played at Hyderabad this season have been won by the team that has batted first. 

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Hyderabad is good to bat on as it offers a consistent bounce. The team batting first will be looking to get as close as possible to the 200-run mark. While there is very little grass, disciplined seamers will get some help here but there is will not be much turn for the spinners.

The temperatures will remain below the 30-degree mark in the evening. Rain is forecast, which might cause delays or interruptions.
