Total 4s in the Match Over 43.5 (1.83)

The Gaddafi Stadium offers a good batting surface and the outfield is pretty quick too. Both matches played on this ground so far have seen at least 44 boundaries and we are backing a similar outcome for this match.

Shaheen Afridi to pick up over 1.5 wickets (1.70)

Afridi is Pakistan’s best seamer in recent times. He has picked up at least 2 wickets in each of his last 6 matches and we are backing him to do so again.

Pakistan will renew its rivalry against Bangladesh as both teams clash for the first match of the Super Four stage in the ongoing Asia Cup. The match will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.

PAK vs BAN Team Previews

Pakistan has played well in the limited overs format and has recently moved to the top of the ICC ODI rankings. They remained undefeated during the group stages and finished at the top of the Group A table.

Pakistan has a well-balanced team for this contest and will look to outplay Bangladesh in all departments. Fakhar Zaman and Imam Ul-Haq will start the proceedings with the bat. The duo wasn’t able to have much of an impact in the match against Nepal, which was the only match that Pakistan got a chance to bat.

Babar Azam has had an outstanding year so far and will play a vital role in the number-3 slot. He stitched a 214-run partnership with Iftikhar Ahmed to propel Pakistan to a huge total. Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman, and Shadab Khan will feature in the middle order.

The batting order for Pakistan is not weak but the dependence on Babar Azam is quite obvious. The depth in batting is also a pretty decent advantage over most other teams, including Bangladesh.

Pakistan has one of the finest pace attacks in the World at the moment. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah are all capable of generating some serious pace and are effective on all kinds of surfaces.

Afridi picked up 4 wickets in the match against India and is in prime form. The spin attack remains a bit of a weakness for Pakistan as it will have to depend on all-rounders Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz.

Bangladesh began its campaign with a loss against Sri Lanka but came back strongly in a must-win encounter against Afghanistan to finish second in the Group B table.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz put up a scintillating display of batting prowess in the last match, scoring individual centuries to put up Bangladesh’s second-highest partnership for the 3rd wicket. However, the form of other batsmen is a bit of a concern.

The likes of Mohammad Naim, Towhid Hridoy, and Mushfiqur Rahim have failed to get going so far. All-rounders Shakib Al-Hasan, Shamim Hossain, and Afif Hossain add depth to the batting but how they perform against a quality bowling attack remains to be seen.

Bangladesh's batting has oftren struggled in conditions that favor big totals. On surfaces where the ball grips and the run-rates don't go astronomical, they are able to manage better. The Gaddafi Stadium is not likely to be to their liking.

The seam attack will be led by Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Hasan Mahmud, while the spin attack will consist of Shakib, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Afif Hossain. This is not really a bolwing attack that Pakistan will worry too much about.

None of the bowlers in this lineup are world-class and even on their best day, they might struggle to get the better of Pakistan.

PAK vs BAN Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Gaddafi Stadium is good to bat on and we can expect plenty of runs. The surface is flat and offers a good amount of bounce and pace, making it easier for the batsmen to play the shots. The team batting first will look to get as close to 300 as possible. The seamers will be rewarded with wickets, provided they are disciplined with the line and length.

The weather is expected to remain clear.

PAK vs BAN Betting Tips

Though the odds being offered for a Bangladesh win are quite mouth-watering, we feel it is unlikely that they can defeat Pakistan at this stage. The latter has put up some strong performances in recent months and we expect them to continue playing well.

Bet on Pakistan to win.
