IND vs ENG Team Previews

India

The Indian juggernaut has been unstoppable in this tournament. They have played some brilliant cricket and are yet to be defeate.

India enter this contest on the back of a brilliant win over Australia in their final Super 8 fixture. The batsmen, led by a terrific Rohit Sharma, played beautifully to set Australia a massive target, which they failed to achieve. What was excellent to see was the intent that almost every single Indiann batter showed.

There is some concern regarding Virat Kohli's form but we would argue that his 0 of 5 balls was better than the 15 of 15 by Rishab Pant. Every batter has taregtted strike rate rather than wicket preservation and as a result, there will be more failures.

Indian fans must hope that India continues to play fearlessly in the semi-final as well.

Rohit Sharma and SKY will be key for India but Virat Kohli, Rishab Pant, and Hardik Pandya are match winners as well. Shivam Dube has a role to play and with both Jadeja and Axar in the lineup, India can afford to be attacking from the start.

Arshdeep Singh continues to bowl well and is the leading wicket-taker for the team with 15 wickets. Supporting him with the new ball will be Jasprit Bumrah. India is also likely to continue with a 3-pronged spin attack consisting of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel.

Having two world-class bowlers like Jaspreet Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav in the lineup is a luxury that no other team has. Rohit has been brilliant at using his bowlers smartly and we expect the same from him in this match. India's bowling attack is the best in the world and that is where its biggest strength against England lies.

India Playing 11

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah.

England

After a terrible start to its campaign, England has gradually built up momentum and is now playing its 4th consecutive semi-final.

Jos Buttler seems to be peaking in form just at the right time. He scored an unbeaten 83 in the last match and his opening partnership with Phil Salt could set the tone for a big total. Buttler will have fond memories of match winning performance against India in the previous semi-final but on a spin-friendly wicket, the challenge is going to be a lot harder.

The middle order consists of Harry Brook and Johnny Bairstow, both of whom can play a big role in their day. They are backed up by Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, and possibly Sam Curran. All of these players have a lot of experience playing in the IPL. They will know what to expect when they take on India.

Of course, India will also know what they bring to the table.

England's batting has been a bit top-heavy and it will be interesting to see how they respond if they lose a couple of early wickets and fall behind in the match.

Jofra Archer’s return to the international arena has certainly bolstered England’s pace attack as he is the joint-highest wicket-taker for the team. He will be joined by Chris Jordan and Sam Curran in the pace department, while Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone will lead the spin attack.

England is a smart T20 team and one that no one wants to come up against in a crunch match. It has the match-winners and the experience on its side. Conditions might not be in its favor, though, and that is where they can struggle.

England Playing 11

IND vs ENG Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.

Pitch and Conditions

The Providence Stadium isn’t the easiest venue for the batsmen and we can expect a good contest between the bat and the ball. The bounce here is variable and the batsmen will need to watch the ball right till the end. The surface is also a bit slow, helping the spinners. Anything over 160 could be challenging to chase.

The weather is likely to remain overcast and there are likely to be some interruptions due to rain.

IND vs ENG Betting Tips

Both teams have played to come this far in the tournament but we feel that India has an edge thanks to a strong batting unit and a well-balanced bowling attack. England on the other hand hasn’t been consistent enough.

We have seen consistently that the team with the better batting lineup, scores more fours. England is a dangerous batting team but is more likely to hit sixes on a good day. India should hit more fours, no matter what the outcome of this match.
