England put up a clinical performance during the ODI series. The team was going through a tough patch after the Champions Trophy debacle earlier this year. However, they seem to have put the disappointment behind them and seem to have bounced back smartly.
Harry Brook continues to lead the squad that has retained some of the key players from the ODI series. Jos Buttler, Ben Duckett, Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, and Will Jacks all find themselves in the team, making up a strong batting unit. Jos Buttler comes into this series on the back of a brilliant performance in the IPL and could be one of the key batsmen for the home team.
England has also brought in Phil Salt who has the reputation for being one of the most explosive batsmen in the opening slot. England has also brought in all-rounder Liam Dawson after a gap of almost 3 years, rewarding him for some excellent performances in the domestic circuit.
The seam attack appears more or less similar to that of the ODIs as Saqib Mahmood and Matthew Potts, both of whom were in good form during the ODIs, retain their place. One new addition here is Luke Wood, who replaces Jofra Archer. Adil Rashid continues to lead the seam department and will have the support of Rehan Ahmed this time around.

The West Indies will be very disappointed with the way they played in the ODI series. While not many would have expected them to win the series, the fans would have hoped that they put up a strong fight. Nevertheless, they have a couple of days to shed the disappointment and begin afresh here.
The West Indies will be fancying their chances in the T20 format, given the fact that some of their players have plenty of experience playing in leagues around the world, including in England. Shai Hope continues to lead the squad like he did in the ODI series. He played a couple of decent knocks and will hope to contribute better in this series.
Brandon King and Shimron Hetmeyer are all likely to feature in the batting line-up along with Evin Lewis and Rovman Powell.
As always, the visitors have selected plenty of all-rounders for this series. Andre Russell and Jason Holder make a comeback as they join Romario Shepherd, Sherfane Rutherford, and Roston Chase. Alzarri Joseph, who bowled well in the 50-over format, will lead the pace department along with Matthew Forde while Akeal Hosein could feature as the specialist spinner.

2 of the 4 matches played here have been won while chasing while the other two were won while batting first. In 3 of those matches, the team winning the toss opted to field first and we expect that trend to continue.
The pitch at the Riverside Ground is likely to favor the bowlers. There is an even covering of grass and there will be plenty of movement off the seam. The weather will remain overcast throughout the day, and the bowlers will be able to swing the ball as well.
The batsmen need to settle down and see off the new ball before they can start playing the big shots. Anything over 160-170 will be difficult to chase. The weather will be chilly with temperatures around 15 degrees or lower.
We are backing England to win this match. They were excellent during the ODI series and will be going into this match with plenty of confidence. Some of the players, especially the batsmen are in good form. That said, West Indies is likely to give them a better fight than they did in the ODIs.
